“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!” As the psalmist writes, so we sing and play at Lutheran Church of the Foothills. We are served by accomplished musicians who lead our worship, adding much meaning and beauty to our life together.

There are different types of music at each of our two Sunday worship services. The first, “Desert Song” at 9:00 am, is led from the piano and supported by guitar, vocals, and brass. This service uses a unique liturgy each week, and the tone is less formal though always offering Holy Communion. The second Sunday service at 10:30 am utilizes Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) and one of its ten liturgical settings for Holy Communion. It is led by organ, brass accompaniment, and frequently choir.

Special services and worship opportunities throughout the year give ample opportunity for the wide variety of music now being written and enjoyed for worship, such as our Wednesday evenings in Lent which uses Marty Haugen’s “Holden Evening Prayer”.

Anyone wishing to join any of our musical groups is encouraged to email Pastor Lillie at pastor@foothillslutheran.org. Whether you are a beginning musical instrument hobbyist or an award winning vocalist - there are a wide range of opportunities that are available. Do you have talent that you would like to share but are not able to commit to playing on a regular basis? That's ok too because we also welcome guest performers to play.

Information about our Choir rehearsal times can be found on our Calendar page.
